What to write in the AI Assistant's knowledge box
The AI Assistant only ever answers from the text in its Knowledge box - never a guess, and never anything it wasn't told. A blank box means it can't answer anything, so what goes in there is the whole feature. Here's what actually makes it useful.
Write it like you're briefing a new staff member
Not like a wiki article, and not like marketing copy - short, plain sentences covering the things people actually ask about. Headings and short lists help it find the right section; long paragraphs of prose don't.
A template to start from
- What this server/community is - one or two sentences.
- Where things are - channel names and what each one is for, e.g.
#rulesis the server rules,#supportis where to ask for help. - Rules or policies people ask about - age limits, what's allowed, how warnings/bans work.
- Prices, plans or perks if relevant - what's free, what costs what.
- Links - your website, socials, store, application form, whatever people ask for.
- Common questions you already answer by hand a lot - paste the real answer in.
Keep it current
It only knows what's written down - if a price, a channel, or a rule changes, update the box. Nothing updates itself.
What not to bother with
Don't write instructions to the assistant ("always be polite", "don't make things up") - that's already how it behaves. Keep the box to facts about your server, not behavior rules.
